How this works

Polish word order is freer than English, but it is not random — what you put first is what you are drawing attention to, and the case endings have to agree wherever a word lands. That is very hard to absorb by reading alone, and reading is most of what a beginner does. Building the sentence yourself is the step that turns recognition into production.

Every sentence here already appears in a lesson, the phrasebook or the reading texts — nothing has been written specially for this page, so anything you practise here is something you can go back and see explained in context. When you get one wrong, the answer links to the lesson it came from.

Three ways to work: Put it in order is the gentlest and needs no keyboard, which makes it the one that actually works on a phone. Fill the gap pushes you to recall an ending rather than recognise it. Translate it is the real test — bear in mind Polish usually allows several correct phrasings, so if your answer is marked wrong but you believe it is right, you can say so and it will be counted.

Words first, sentences second: pick up vocabulary in the word games or Word Arena, get the rules from the lessons, then come back here. Words you miss go to your daily review.
