Complex sentences & connectors

Link ideas like a native speaker.

Linking words turn choppy sentences into fluent, B2-level speech. Group them by job — cause, contrast, result, adding — and adopt one strong phrase from each group until it's automatic.

Zostałem w domu, bo padało.
I stayed home because it was raining.
Mimo że było zimno, poszliśmy na spacer.
Although it was cold, we went for a walk.
Było późno, więc wróciłem.
It was late, so I went back.
Lubię Polskę, ponieważ ludzie są mili.
I like Poland because the people are nice.
Poza tym jest tania.
Besides, it's cheap.
🧠 Tactic — Upgrade one filler at a time: replace a run of i ('and') sentences with one ponieważ, chociaż or dlatego and your Polish jumps a level.
⚠️ Watch out — bo can't start a written sentence — use ponieważ at the beginning and save bo for the middle.

Quick check

'although':

chociaż / mimo że = although.

'because':

ponieważ / bo = because.
